How to Show your Frame Rate FPS in Team Fortress 2 TF2

There are a couple of ways to check your frame rate in TF2. First, you need to have the developer console turned on. Do this by going to OPTIONS (in the main menu) > KEYBOARD > ADVANCED > put a check in the enable developer console box, click OK on the windows to close them out. Then, while in the game, go to console by hitting the TILDE (~) key, located under the ESCAPE key on the upper left hand corner of your keyboard. Then type:

CL_SHOWFPS 1

You do not have to capitalize and use an underscore to separate CL and SHOWFPS. The underscore is between ZERO and PLUS at the top row of the keyboard, under the Function keys. (next to BACKSPACE) Then close console and play the game, you will see your frame rate in the upper right corner of the screen. To turn it off, go back to console and type CL_SHOWFPS 0(zero). There is another command you can use, which will display the info on the lower right corner, go into console and type NET_GRAPH 1. You can also use NET_GRAPH 2 or 3 or 4. It may go up to 6, I forget and have stopped using it since someone mentioned it uses more resources. To turn it off type NET_GRAPH 0(zero) in console.
